PixEdit®

PixEdit from Techsoft is an advanced document capture and raster-handling tool for scanned office and engineering documents. With PixEdit, you can perform multilayered, multipaged monochrome and color raster scanning, editing, converting, comparing, viewing and printing documents stored in raster format. Featuring advanced automatic document cleanup tools and ACRO™, PixEdit automatically evaluates each page and decides if it should be stored as a color page, as a grayscale or black/ white page. Combine this with the powerful After Scanning functionality and DocServer, and all you have to do is to press the Scan button.

The OCR – Optical Character Recognition - plug-in module for PixEdit® is a capable and functional tool used to transform scanned documents into readable and searchable PDF files. This translates into real world timesavings and productivity enhancements. With the OCR plug-in, PixEdit® quickly finds desired information in both single and multi-page documents with just a few click of the mouse.

OCR is manually executable on already scanned documents and automatically with the “After Scanning” feature. The “Batch Wizard” performs OCR on thousands or even millions of documents without user interaction. When saving an open document in PDF format, recognized text is stored in addition to the scanned content. This feature ensures full search ability without affecting the original content. PixEdit® will not replace any graphics or change the appearance of the scanned document.

With the “Selection Tool”, a specific area of the document is selected and text copied into Windows Clipboard. This text can then be pasted into any application.

Improved Language Accuracy results when PixEdit knows the language of the scanned text. PixEdit defaults to the configured language in Windows, but this may be overridden by checking a specific language in the list of supported languages.

In order to ensure maximum OCR quality, scanned documents need good readability. Readability is enhanced using the powerful editing and cleanup features in PixEdit. Recommended resolution is 300 DPI. Make sure that the scanned documents are not very dark or very bright.

PixView is a sophisticated software program for multilayered raster viewing, scanning and printing documents stored in raster format. PixView fits into almost any document management installation because of its automatic file format detector. PixView can be PixView can be used both as a Plug-in for Internet Explorer or as a self standing program.

PixJet®

A "virtual printer" that allows you to generate more than 100 raster file formats directly from the File, Print menu in any application. Lets say that you need to make a raster file directly from AutoCAD or Microsoft Word: Simply click the Print button, select PixJet as the printer, choose file format and size, path, naming convention  and click OK.

Both single page and multi page, color and monochrome raster formats are supported. Since PixJet emulates an advanced paper printer, you can choose between many useful options. Click here to learn more about PixJet.
